Terms and Conditions
Booking:
-A 50% non refundable booking fee is required to secure the date via cash payment or bank transfer to the business bank account.
-A receipt will be issued for payments made, if you do not receive one politely request one to be sent.
-If a job is cancelled at short notice or a member of staff arrive at a job to find that nobody is there to let them attend the job then then the booking fee will not be refunded, the job can then be rebooked.
-Estimates are an estimated cost and are only valid for 30 days, after this period the cost will need to be reviewed after this time period due to changes in prices.
Work being carried out:
-We do not take responsibility of any building materials that are damaged due to existing poor installation while the work is carried out (pipes, cables, bricks, plaster, flooring, etc).
-When agreeing to the work being carried out you are accepting that there is risk of dust and unintentional/unavoidable damage to plaster, paintwork, the surrounding environment, etc.
-We are not responsible for any plastering/decorating work after the work has been done.
-Any flooring taken up to gain access to under the floorboards will be put back as best we can, however a specialist fitter may be recommended to reinstall it back to its original state.
-When drilling into ceilings or soffits for new wiring there is a risk that joists may not be exactly where they are presumed to be or pieces of timber may be unexpectedly in the way, this could result in it having to be re-drilled leaving a hole where previously drilled. Best efforts will be made to avoid this.
-Please be advised that power will have to be turned off during the work being carried out, this may cause disruption to the internet and any electrical items being used.
-Areas where work is to be carried out should be cleared and be in a clean workable state with pets/children kept clear to avoid danger. If not then work may be refused and a charge may occur for the time wasted.
-We do not take responsibility for any valuable items that are damaged if they are not moved from the working area.
-All work completed by ourselves will be carried out to current British standard regulations and to a high standard.
-Estimates provided are subject to change with additional charges if there is a significant amount of work and time involved.
-Please be aware the work estimated for is based on the existing wiring being in adequate condition; if the existing wiring/accesories do not meet the minimum standards then an estimate will be issued to rectify the issue before the work can be continued.
-Removal of general waste, packaging or materials left over from the job is not included within the price, however it can be disposed of correctly at an additional cost.
-All specifications required must be provided for any work to be completed, ie. kitchens, bathrooms, extensions. If no specific details are provided then we will use a mix of the customers decision and our own judgement of where to locate accessories or wiring. The customer is required to check after any work completed to ensure that it is to their standard and also in the correct position.
-If any accessories are marked out in a position and the location is changed after already being installed a charge will incur for the work involved.
-WiFi based products are reliant on a strong wifi connection throughout the property, we are not responsible for any malfunction of the product due to poor connection issues.
-We are unable to see behind plaster, in walls, under floors or in ceilings and if any pipes/cables/etc or damaged due to previously being installed or located poorly then we are not liable to incur any repair costs related to this.
-The work area will have a general tidy up afterwards however additional cleaning may be required especially once dust settles in the air, this will not be covered by ourselves.
-When working around materials such as wood, brickwork, paint or plaster we cannot guarantee that the surrounding area will stay intact especially if the material has aged or poorly installed. We do not take responsibility for any damage caused due to this.
-Additional work will be worked out and billed for accordingly the end when the final invoice is processed.
-If any materials supplied by us are to be replaced via our 1 year warranty and that product is discontinued then it will be replaced for the closest possible item. However If the new item do not match any others installed in the property then we will not be liable to cover the cost to replace all items to match that newly supplied item, this is down to the customer if they choose to pay for all products to match.
-If the area is untidy or unable to be worked in then the job may be refused until the workspace is suitable to continue with work, in this case an extra charge will be made for a revisit.
-Any accessories installed must be maintained correctly by the customer to prevent breakdown. If the product is not maintained correctly then our warranty may be voided, this is down to managements discretion.
-EV chargers installed are subject to the voltage at the customers property being at the correct limit. If the voltage at the property exceeds the EV chargers tolerance then it may cause damage to the EV charger and installation. We are not liable for any additional work required or any damage caused due to this.
Payment and charges:
-Any additional work other than what was stated on the estimate will be priced and billed accordingly.
-Any materials supplied and fitted are owned by Luke Burton Electrical Services until the invoice has been paid in full, these materials are liable to be removed from the property by Luke Burton Electrical Services if the invoice is not paid in full.
-A callout charge will occur for any call out work completed (Please note: Any time between 6pm - 8am or a weekend call out will be charged at a higher rate).
-Revisits for anything that is not a fault of the company's will be charged for - this also includes materials supplied by the customer that have become faulty.
-The remaining balance is to be made in full on completion of the work in cash payment or bank transfer to the business bank account.
-Failure to make the payment for the work completed/materials supplied may result in the matter being pursued through a legal route or debt collector to obtain payment, with late payment charges will be additional to the existing balance. Late payment charges will be charged daily after the due date of the invoice, accruing at 8% daily plus the bank of England's interest base rate. There will also be an admin fee on top of this:
<£999: £40
£1000 to £9,999.99: £70
£10,000 or more: £100
-Please note the price provided is an estimate and not a quote or fixed price, if the work estimated for takes significantly longer than budgeted for or excessive materials are used then the cost may go up to suit the time taken for the job.
-Refusal to pay in any way or if the customer is hostile/aggressive/rude towards any of our team then all goodwill gestures/discounts/favours may be removed and full price will be charged instead.
Warranty:
-The services and materials we supply are covered by a 1 year warranty from installation, if any issues arise in that 1 year period it will be reviewed by a manager first and then the issue can look to be resolved. This warranty excludes general wear and tear or consumables.
-The manufacturers warranty of any materials we supply may exceed our 1 year warranty, however any replacement/repair work after this period will be charged for.
-If any work/materials has signs that it has been tampered with by anybody else other than Luke Burton Electrical Services then the warranty will be void.
-If any materials are requested to be purchased from a different supplier than what we would normally use in order to bring the price down for the work then the warranty will not be covered on these items due to uncertainty of an irregular supplier.
Any departures from the agreed terms above will be considered a breach of contract.
